Brief Synopsis – In order to save the Mutants of the future, Wolverine is sent back in time to stop a key event that should change the devastating future.

My Take on it – Ever since being amazed by the first movie in this franchise in 2000, I have always been a huge fan of the X-Men movies. They have always been able to show how teamwork can help defeat their enemies because their powers all complement each other helping to create a very powerful superhero force.

The clever idea to merge characters for this movie from both story lines was a great idea because it gives us a chance to see everyone in action from both time periods working together for a mutual goal.

If this is the way that Singer wants to keep the franchise going, I’m definitely interested in seeing where he plans on taking us because this movie is truly one of the best of the entire franchise.

Let’s hope that he continues to raise the bar in every new film he decides to make because it seems that he is far from reaching his potential and there is so much more for him to tell us.

As with most people, I believe that the Quicksilver scenes are among the best.

Bottom Line – Great sequel/reboot that is amazing despite not even reaching its full potential. Let’s hope Singer keeps things going in an upward trajectory and continues to raise the bar during each subsequent outing. Teamwork is what makes this franchise so great and it is exemplary in this movie. Highly recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The filmmakers selected the “Days of Future Past” storyline because it would allow the filmmakers to reconcile any continuity dissonances within the “X-Men” film series. The time-travel element also allowed actors from the original film series and the intended reboot that was X-Men: First Class (2011) to appear in the same film together. (From IMDB)

Rating – Oscar Worthy (no change from original review)
